Rehabilitation of the Whitter Covered Bridge Over the Beaucamp River

The Town of Ossipee is proposing to complete the rehabilitation of the Whittier Covered Bridge. This is the third and final phase of the project which will re-erect the bridge over the Bearcamp River in its original location founded on modified stone abutments. This project also includes activities to restore and stabilize the south riverbank. The new riverbank will be stabilized using a combination of rounded stone and vegetation to utilize native materials and retain a natural appearance once vegetation becomes established.
