Abrams Creek Trail Phase 3

10' wide, asphalt, shared-use trail along Abrams Creek. From Senseny Road to Channing Drive. It is estimated the trail will have six bridge stream crossings and will be approximately 3 miles in length. As outlined below, the project is envisioned in three phases of approximately 1 mile each. Each phase will have logical beginning and ending points and be usable trail sections in themselves. Phase 1 from Senseny Road to Woodstock Lane. Phase 2 from Woodstock Lane to Woody's Place, and Phase 3 from Woody's Place to Channing Drive. VDOT Transportation Alternatives (TA) Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) funds are allocated for the project in the schedule above. Funds for Phases II and III are not yet secured. Grant funding will be pursued for these phases. As of August 24, 2022, this project is included in the Frederick County FY 2022-2027 CIP. The design completion and firm construction timeline has not been released. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
