Description | The work to be completed under this contract consists of cantilever truss span painting; new electrical feeders, structural and miscellaneous steel repairs; concrete repairs; and vibration dampener rehabilitation and replacement. Work associated with the cantilever truss span painting includes removal of existing lead based paint by blast cleaning (SSPC SP 10 – “Near White Blasting Cleaning”), and application of a new coating system for the Commodore Barry Bridge (CBB) Pennsylvania cantilevered truss spans. The type of Work pertaining to the CBB cantilevered truss spans, but is not limited to: work platform installation, containment installation, blasting of steel, coating application of steel, protection of existing utilities, caulking steel joints, maintenance and protection of traffic, noise mitigation and coordination with other projects. Work for the electrical feeder replacement includes but is not limited to the demolition and replacement of various electrical feeders and transformers on the Commodore Barry Bridge from the New Jersey abutment to the Pennsylvania abutment as depicted on the Contract Drawings. Feeder voltages include 4160, 480/277 and 120 VAC. Work for the structural & miscellaneous steel repairs includes repairs to both structural steel members and miscellaneous steel members in the cantilevered truss spans as well as the Pennsylvania approach spans. Work includes but not limited to lateral bracing repairs, handrail repairs, beam flange repair, anchor bolt replacement, stiffener repair and gusset plate repair. Work for the concrete repairs includes but not limited concrete spall repair and concrete crack repair to concrete piers adjacent to Amtrak. This work will include coordination with Amtrak including shop drawing review as well as required Amtrak flagmen. Work for the vibration dampener rehabilitation and replacement consists of the repair and replacement of box truss member vibration absorbers and I-shaped truss member vibration absorbers. The work also includes all required shielding, painting and field surveying. |
