Description

Permitted landfills or other sites for the daily disposal of yard waste and pallets collected from residential and business customers. The City of Ocala provides more than 16,500 residential customers once a week with yard waste collection, and pallet collection from approximately 70 businesses. The Residential Sanitation Division provides collection between the hours of 7:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday thru Thursday with small collections on Fridays except when holidays require full Friday collections. The previous three years we have collected an average of approximately 13,200 tons of yard waste (this does not include any storm debris collections where the City has activated emergency debris removal contracts for declared emergencies) and approximately 325 tons of pallets. Both are collected daily utilizing clam shell trucks, rear loaders and a leaf vacuum truck (seasonal). The City does not guarantee a minimum or a maximum volume of material to any successful bidder(s). Contract will be awarded to multiple vendors if it is in the best interest of the City. Successful bidder or bidders will also be expected to accept debris related to declared or non-declared emergency events whether the debris is delivered by the City, or City-approved contracted haulers.
