2023 Resurfacing Project - Concrete Phase

Brief description of project: Work includes removal and replacement of approximately 3250 SY of 8-inch concrete pavement, 4900 LF of 30-inch combination curb and gutter, removal and replacement of 800 SY of 5-inch concrete sidewalk, 80 curb ramps, 5 curb or drain inlets, and all other associated work to complete the project. Locations of project include: 7th Street - Chestnut Avenue to Oswego Avenue, 3rd and 4 th Street - East Side Boulevard to California Avenue, Turner Avenue - 12th Street to 13 th Street, and 5 th Street -Baltimore Avenue to Saunders Avenue in Hastings, Nebraska Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, drawn on a solvent bank in the State of Nebraska, or a bid bond in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid of all contract construction costs, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Hastings, Nebraska, as security that the bidder to whom the contract may be awarded will enter into a contract to build all the improvements in accordance with this notice and give bond in the sum hereinafter provided for the construction of improvements. No bid shall be withdrawn after opening of bids without the consent of the City of Hastings, Nebraska, for a period of sixty (60) days after scheduled time of closing bids. Time is of the essence in this contract. In evaluating bid(s) received, the City will consider the timelines of completion of prior construction contracts, existing workload of bidders and available manpower that bidder commits to the project. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in the sum of the full amount of the Contract within ten (10) days of the date of award. No additional time will be allowed the Contractor for providing the Performance Bond - $250 per calendar day past the final completion date.
