Description

SEALED BIDS are invited on the following work items: Renovations to the Ross Street Fire Headquarters located in the City of Wilkes-Barre as indicated in the Contract Documents. Project is comprised of HVAC system replacement, flooring, ceilings, toilet room upgrades, lighting and associated electrical work as indicated in the bid specifications. All technical questions can be directed to pat@endlerac.com. Issues obtaining the documents can be directed to jzaykowski@wilkes-barre.pa.us or (570) 208-4138. Contracts will be awarded to the responsible bidders who submit the lowest bids for the selected work, as determined by the Owner and the Professional Service Provider in three (3) prime contracts: General, Mechanical and Electrical Construction. The successful bidders shall anticipate a Notice of Award within Thirty days (30) calendar days after opening the bids and a Notice to Proceed shall be issued shortly thereafter. Bid Security, in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the total bid shall be submitted with each bid, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages, as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on the project. The successful bidders will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond.Issues obtaining the documents can be directed to jzaykowski@wilkes-barre.pa.us or (570) 208-4138. The Contractors must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicap, or family status, and that to the greatest extent feasible utilize project area businesses located in or owned in substantial part by project area residents. In addition to Equal Employment requirements of Executive Order 11246, as amended, the contractors must also establish a 6.9% goal for female participation and a 0.6% goal for minority participation in his aggregate on-site construction work force, for contracts in excess of $10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Dollars) whether or not part of that work force is performing work on a federal or federally assisted construction contract or subcontract. In accordance with Executive Order 11625 and 12138, the Contractors must utilize, to the greatest extent feasible, minority and women-owned business concerns which are located in the municipality, county, or the general trade area. The City of Wilkes-Barre reserves the right to reject any or all bids or portions thereof, and to waive informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the City of Wilkes-Barre for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids, prior to awarding this Contract. In this period of time, no Bidder may withdraw his Bid. The selection of the successful bidder shall be made in the best interest of the City of Wilkes-Barre, as solely determined by the City, and bidders acknowledge this by submitting a bid. This project is funded by the American Rescue Plan and The Wilkes-Barre General Fund. The City of Wilkes-Barre does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, family, and handicapped status in employment or the provision of services. CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT NO 3 - ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION Project consists of renovations to the existing parking garage including painting, concrete repair/replacement, landscaping, mechanical/plumbing and electrical upgrades. Renovations to the existing lobby including doors, HVAC, finishes, toilet rooms, and electrical upgrades. 1. Notice of Award: On or about December 20, 2022. 2. Notice to Proceed: On or about January 2, 2023. 3. Substantial Completion: August 8, 2023. 4. Final Completion: August 28, 2023. 1. Renovations to the existing parking garage including painting, concrete repair/replacement, landscaping, mechanical/plumbing and electrical upgrades.
