Description

**As of August 9, 2022, project was awarded to Balkema Excavating, Inc awarded amount is $9,312,708.50 ** Division 1: Water Main and Services Division 2: Plumbing Inspections and Customer Connections Division 1 - Approximate Water Main Quantities:12-inch: 2000' of directionally drilled and 1100' of open cut, 8-inch: 14,000' of directionally drilled and 3,500' of open cut, and 6-inch: 350' of open cut including 56 fire hydrants and includes 800' of 4-inch force main replacement, 77' of 8-inch sanitary sewer replacement, 10' of 6-inch lateral replacement, an 8"x6" wye, and a sewer manhole. Lead/Galvanized Service Line Replacement: 486 service lines including (Division 2) plumbing inspections and connections to existing customers. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in bidding. The use of local contractors and labor is encouraged. A certified check or bank draft drawn on a solvent bank in the State of Michigan payable without condition to the OWNER or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and a surety company, in an amount equal to 5 percent of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. No bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least ninety (90) days. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Bond in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract price. Bond forms are included in the Contract Documents. Funding is through the Michigan Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) and Compliance with Davis-Bacon Wages is required.
