Description | The Highway Commissioner reserves the right to reject any informalities and bidding and/or accept any proposal which is judged to be in the best interest of the District. Successful bidders must comply with all applicable Federal and State laws, including prevailing wageand must be approved by the Cook County Commissioner of Highways. The roads of the unincorporated area of the Township will be shown on a map available at the Township Hall. Work involved is: A minimum of ten (10) applications of salting of the roads with no less than eight (8) tons of pretreated salt per application shall be included in the bid. Bid the cost of each additional application requested by the Highway Commissioner. Bid for services, as follows: a. Forthwith and prompt removal of snow from all of said roads in the unincorporated area after every two (2) inches of snowfall as determined by the Highway Commissioner. All work that has to be done will be done forthwith upon oral or electronic notice by the Highway Commissioner or designee and direction to so remove the snow and/or salt the streets. The decision of the Commissioner shall be considered final as to the depth of the snow and the quality and the speed of the removal and the obligation of the Road & Bridge fund to pay the servicing company herein. The servicing company will send a bill to the Township at the end of each month and the Township shall make a payment within ten days of the billing date if found to be order by the Highway Commissioner. All obligations of the Commissioner are conditional upon proper budgetary ability and to performance obligations hereunder. The obligation of the Commissioner to pay is conditioned upon his satisfaction with the performance of the service contract. Such satisfaction shall be within the sole discretion of the Highway Commissioner and he shall have the sole discretion whether he is in good faith satisfied or dissatisfied according to his own standards regardless of the opinion of others. Should the Commissioner at any time become dissatisfied with service company said service can be immediately terminated by the Highway Commissioner upon giving notice in writing to the service company. The service company, bidding, shall provide public liability insurance in the name of the bidding company with the Township and the Township Highway Commissioner as additional parties insured in the minimal amounts of $750,000.00 for one person and $100,000.00 per accident for property damage. The service company, bidding, shall provide public liability insurance in the name of the bidding company with the Township and the Township Highway Commissioner as additional parties insured in the minimal amounts of $1,000,000.00 for one person and $3,000,000.00 per accident for personal injury. The awarding authority reserves the right to waive technicalities and to reject any and all proposals. |
