Sidewalk and Drainage Improvements on El Monte Place

The Work is for Sidewalk and Drainage Improvements along El Monte Pl in Manitou Springs to include improving ADA accessibility. 1. The Contractor will provide project costs for crews and equipment, anticipated mobilization time, and anticipated project completion time. 2. The Contractor is responsible to provide all materials and equipment necessary for fabrication, construction, and/or installation of this project. 3. All waste shall be disposed of by the Contractor. 4. The Contractor is responsible for damages, inside or outside the project area. 5. The Contractor is responsible for their own confined space, roadway, and trenching safety procedures. 6. If the project requires street closure – partial or otherwise, the Contractor shall provide all necessary traffic control. All traffic control personnel must at a minimum carry a current CDOT Flagger Certification. A Traffic Control Plan must be submitted to and approved by City staff at the pre-construction meeting. The pre-construction is to be scheduled at time of accepting the contract. 7. Below is the Anticipated General Scope of Services for this project. The City of Manitou Springs will complete sidewalk, ADA and drainage improvements along El Monte Place, a major route to school for students to safely access our City’s only high school and middle school. This project would provide critical access to school with improved sidewalks, ADA access and drainage from a major throughout way, Manitou Avenue. The entire project area will accomplish a total of 1,500 sq ft of improved sidewalk and 500 LF of curb and gutter, (2) ADA curb ramps and installation of drainage in the roadway on El Monte Pl. The following elements are included: ? Sidewalk improvements including curb and gutter will be made along the northeast side of El Monte Place (from Bond St along El Monte Pl to the front of Manitou Springs High School, 492 El Monte Pl to 417 El Monte Pl) totaling 1500 square feet of sidewalk and 500 linear feet of curb and gutter. ? The sidewalk improvements will also include (2) ADA ramps on El Monte: one at Bond St (northeast side of street) and the other in front of Manitou Springs High School (north side of El Monte at approximately 417 El Monte Pl) ? Additional drainage is needed in this area. During and after weather events, water does not properly drain away from the sidewalk on the southwest side of El Monte Pl and turns this already hilly area into a hazard. New drainage will be installed diagonally along El Monte in the roadway from Fountain Place southward to just beyond Bond Street. This drainage improvement will ensure water is diverted away from the street and directed toward the grate that is at the bottom of El Monte Pl & Fountain Pl preventing flooding, standing water and icing over of this area.
