Description | This project will replace electric heating coils in the 7 air handlers serving buildings K and L at WTCC South Campus as well as new boilers and chiller to serve both buildings and all controls and electrical work associated with the new systems. In addition, building K shall receive full lighting upgrades and a new natural gas back-up generator. Wake Technical Community College encourages participation by MWBE firms and supports efforts to ensure and promote opportunities for minority businesses. General scope of work includes: The installation of new boilers with associated pumps and hot water piping distribution to serve Buildings SK and SL. As well as associated controls and electrical work. The project also includes the replacement of electric coils in the air handling unit at Building SK and the six air handling units at Building SL. The addition of a new office on the ground floor of Building SK. A new natural gas generator to serve as 100% back-up electrical power to building SK. As well as the replacement of a 119-gallon domestic water heater at Building SL. The project also includes alternates to replace the electric re-heat terminal units on the first floor of SK during the period of June 1, 2023, to July 15, 2023. The installation of a third boiler in Building SK. The replacement of electric water coolers, lavatory faucets, and mop sink faucets in Buildings SK and SL. And the replacement of the electric re-heat terminal units on the first floor of SK during the period of May 1, 2023, to July 15, 2023. Building SK, South Campus- a. Construction of a new boiler room with new gas fired boilers, associated pumps, piping, air removal, and controls in the ground floor of Building SK. With new ground level exhaust, make-up air, and replacement of existing electric unit heaters with new hot water unit heaters. b. Construction of a new facilities office with a new terminal unit, lighting, telephone, and data on the ground floor of Building SK. c. AHU-1 of Building SK, relocation of the duct smoke detector, installation of a new duct mounted inline pre-filter for the air monitoring flow station, the replacement of the electric pre-heat coil with a new hot water pre-heat coil. d. Installation of new energy sub-metering for the natural gas, heating hot water for Building SK and heating hot water for Building SL (meter to be located in Building SK). e. A new hot water control system will be installed. f. Installation of a new gas fired generator to serve Building SK. g. Electrical work shall consist of all necessary demolition and new connections to support mechanical equipment, control replacement, lighting, telephone, data, and smoke detector relocation. Building SL, South Campus- 1. Work includes the following: a. Install new underground hot water supply, hot water return, and 2" control conduit from new boiler room in Building SK to Building SL, with repair of all turf, concrete, and roadway to match existing surfaces. b. Replace soffit system on the East, North, and West sides of the ground floor. c. Install new heating hot water distribution system and replace exterior lighting in soffit system with the installation of 2" isolation valves for future connections. d. Work includes installation of a metal chase at each pipe riser to conceal piping and conduit serving first and second floors. e. Replace electric coils in AHU-1 through AHU-6 with hot water coils and reconnect new hot water control valve to existing control system. f. Replace existing crawl space exhaust fan EF-13 with two new thermostatically controlled exhaust fans and ducted to connect to existing exhaust louver. g. Replace existing 119-gallon domestic water heater with associated expansion tank and recirculating pump in Mechanical Room 010. h. Electrical work shall consist of all necessary demolition and new connections to support mechanical and plumbing equipment, lighting, necessary control support. i. Work shall include by Alternate the replacement of electric re-heat terminal units, exhaust fans, ductless mini-split system, unit heaters, controls, with associated ceiling, and electrical work for the 1st floor during the period of May 1, 2023, to July 15, 2023. |
