Description

Location: The Town of Mount Holly is seeking bids from qualified contractors to perform paving on Healdville Road. Paving starts approximately at mile 2.7 and ends approximately at mile 3.2 from the intersection of Rt 103. Shoulder gravel only starting approximately at mile 1.9 and ending approximately at mile 2.4. Option 1 – Shim and Overlay • Install spot shim/leveling course of Type III Marshall Mix in locations that have significant settlement and need to be built up to allow for proper cross slope of overlay to shed water – Estimated 200 tons • Install 1 1/2” minimum overlay course of Type III Marshall Mix – Estimated 600 tons • All driveways to have a two-foot paved apron. • Mill transitions for wearing course butt joints. • Provide aggregate shoulder, 1 1/2” crushed gravel, along edge of paved areas between mile 2.7 and 3.2 – Estimated 120 ton. Option 2 – Reclaim and New Pavement • Full Depth Reclaim 7000 sy of roadway and mix reclaim material into subbase minimum 4 inches. • Install 2 1/2” base course of Type II Marshall Mix – Estimated 1000 tons • Install 1 ½” wearing course of Type III Marshall Mix – Estimated 600 tons • All driveways to have a two-foot paved apron. • Mill transition for wearing course butt joints • Provide aggregate shoulder, 1 1/2” crushed gravel, along edge of paved areas between mile 2.7 and 3.2 – Estimated 120 ton.
