Description

Provide Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3 engineering services for a federally funded shared use path project. The project will include a shared use path which will extend west from a proposed trailhead and parking lot located at the northwest corner of the intersection of IL Route 4 and L&N Avenue to Brickyard Road. A pedestrian crossing of IL Route 4 will be provided at the intersection. The shared use path will be 10 feet in width and approximately 1.03 miles in length. The majority of the path will be located within the former L&N Railway corridor. An existing railway bridge will be modified for the path to cross over an existing stream. The selected firm will be responsible for, but limited to, the following: Topographical and boundary survey of the project area; Phase I Engineering design for the shared use path and Project Development Report (PDR) with required exhibits; Attend IDOT/FHWA coordination meeting; Submit Environmental Survey Request (ESR) to IDOT Bureau of Local Roads; Perform a geotechnical investigation as necessary; Coordinate with utility companies; Perform Phase II engineering design services using federal guidelines and prepare construction plans, specifications, and estimates for the project; Assistance with bidding including responses to requests for information and preparation of any necessary addenda, bid opening, bid analysis, bid tabulation, and recommendation to award; Phase III engineering services for inspection, supervision, material testing, certification, documentation, complete and submit final measurements, calculations, field books, and all other contract documents to the City.
