Removal of Submarine

This vessel has been on the USSOUTHCOM premises since 2010. Due to the extreme weather conditions and climate exposures the materials used in the construction of this vessel has started to fade and aesthetically is no longer appealing. Economically it is not viable to repair the vessel due to the type of material that was used in its construction. The USSOUTHCOM leadership has decided that the best course of action is to remove the vessel from USSOUTHCOM. The vessel is not a historical or organizational property book item so no turn-in options exist. The removal of the 19’ x 7’ vessel includes removing everything above the concrete platform which holds the vessel. This includes any and all appendages and attachments which hold the vessel together and stabilizes it to the concrete. The entire vessel must be removed and disposed from the USSOUTHCOM premises. No debris or water will remain on the premises and contractor agrees to remove any debris, trash, or water as a result of the work. The removal will be considered completed when inspected by USAG DPW and approved by the USAG DPW Director. All work must be to the level of acceptance as set out by USAG DPW. USAG will remove bollards/fencing adjacent to the vessel to provide direct access. USAG will block off parking spaces adjacent to the vessel for the stationing of contractor vehicles and equipment. Contractor must agree to meet and provide plan specifications to USAG DPW prior to removal.
