Description | Roof replacement project at Sunrise Elementary School, Buildings 1 through 6, Deltona, Florida. Refer to the appropriate specification section for further information about installation methods and components to be provided. In general, the work includes, but is not limited to, the following items: 1. Buildings 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 Roofs: a. In general, the existing standing seam metal roof assembly is to remain in place. The new standing seam metal roof assembly is to be installed directly over the existing metal roof system. The new metal roof assembly shall be attached through the existing metal roof assembly to the existing roof structure utilizing metal sub-framing members as indicated. b. Building 4 Roof: The new metal roof assembly shall be installed over new waterproofing underlayment membrane, sheathing and rigid insulation over the existing metal roof assembly. The new metal roof assembly will be attached (over membrane and insulation) as described in paragraph “a” above. c. Remove existing standing seam metal wall panels at roof gable end-wall and fascia locations where indicated as required to install new wall panels at these locations. d. Install new wall panels over existing wall panels at clerestory locations. Tie new wall panels into the new roof system with flashings as detailed. e. Remove and replace wall panels and transition flashings at all locations where the existing aluminum walkway canopies attach to Buildings 1 through 4. In general, the aluminum walkway canopies are not included in the scope of work. f. Repair metal trim at building overhang/walkway soffit areas. In general, existing metal soffit panels at overhang/walkway areas are not included in the scope of work and shall remain in place. 2. Roof Drainage Assemblies: a. Remove existing gutters and install new metal gutters where indicated along roof edge/fascia locations on Buildings 1 through 4. Attach to the existing metal downspout-columns below. Provide concrete splash pads and bases for the downspouts as indicated in the drawings. 3. Mechanical and Electrical systems: a. Remove and replace clerestory louvered vents to accommodate roof/wall panel installation on Buildings 1 through 4. Install new louvered vents, re-sized to fit new roof/wall system and to provide clearance for roof/wall flashings as indicated in the drawings. Provide new metal housing and flexible ductwork to connect new re-sized louvered vents to existing ductwork on interior. Remove abandoned ductwork wherever encountered and cap existing abandoned openings in walls. b. Remove and replace roof exhaust stack flashings on Building 4 and on Building 5 (CEP). c. Remove and replace louvered vent at gable wall panels on Building 5 (CEP). d. Remove and replace smoke/heat relief vents and curbs on Building 4 roof. Extend ductwork or curb liners as required. e. Remove and reinstall existing kitchen exhaust fan atop a new insulated metal roof curb on Building 4 roof as indicated to replace roof. f. Remove and reinstall existing mechanical and electrical components attached to walls and fascia panels as indicated (speakers, Conduit boxes, etc.). Provide new weathertight wall plates as indicated in the drawings. Lengthen components and wiring as required. Field verify all equipment and locations. g. Remove and reinstall existing lightning protection air terminals. Extend the existing air terminals to accommodate new roofing, using new threaded rod and couplings. Provide boot flashing as indicated. Replace components where damaged or missing, to match existing. |
