Description | The City of Maryville respectfully requests proposals for engineering and surveying services to provide a sediment survey of the Greenbelt Lake in the Bicentennial Park. The project site is located southwest of Parham Avenue and extends to a dam located southwest of North Cusick Street in the City of Maryville, Blount County, Tennessee, along Pistol Creek, between creek miles 8.1 (3 45' 23"N; 83, 58', 29"W) and 11.0 (35, 43', 56"N; 83, 58, 58"W). The project is to be funded by stormwater utility funds. Generally, the proposal should provide the following: o Survey data collection to compare with previous asbuilt survey of dredged Greenbelt Lake for 15 cross-sections. o Asbuilt data from the previous lake dredging project will be available, including coordinates for the cross sections, lake bottom elevations, and incremental areas. o Asbuilt drawings of the lake are available in DGN and DWG format. o The water depth should be measured at points no more than 5 feet apart along each contour. o The survey should only be performed during a dry period when flow through the lake is minimal (flowing only an inch or so over the spillway and little or no rain forecast for the duration of the survey. o Station and depth should be recorded to the nearest tenth of a foot. o Qualifications: o Candidates to have demonstrated competence in terrain model mapping and cut/fill volume calculations. o Describe experience in working with terrain survey for determining cut/fill quantities. o Deliverables to include: o Cross sections that show the depth of the lake from the top of the water to the top of the sediment, and lake bottom at all points o A capacity report to determine the water body's diminished volume based on sediment deposition in the lake with an estimate of sediment volume. o A digital terrain model of the lake bottom (TIN) in DWG format. o Draft for review and comments by the City of Maryville at least 1 week before final submittal. o Final submittal addressing City of Maryville comments. In your proposal, please outline the equipment and methods to be used and describe any quality control measures that will be employed to ensure the quality of the data. Please submit your proposal by 5:00 pm on May 10, 2023. Please feel free to include anything else in your proposal that you feel we may have overlooked. Proposals will be based on qualifications, experience, and the ability to perform the work within the specified time frame. |
