Description

1. Sand relocation shall be executed throughout the Lake Michigan Unit of Holland State Park; including the Entrance/Exit (including the turn-around and fish dump pad), Channel walkway (including the outdoor classroom and benches), Parking areas, Activity Courts, Concession Building, Beach Campground and Picnic Areas. Contractor shall start with the entrance area, Beach Campground and Channel Picnic Area. 2. Contractor will remove all large debris between snow fence and shoreline prior to grading sand. Debris includes but is not limited to trees, building construction materials, stumps, logs, etc. Debris will be removed from Holland State Park by contractor. 3. Miss Dig must be contacted by the contractor before any work is performed allowing adequate time for buried utilities to be marked. 4. The exact dates for sand relocation will be determined by the Park Supervisor prior to the contractor starting sand relocation. 5. Sand to be relocated to the main Beach or Channel Picnic area, as designated by Park Supervisor. 6. Sand is to be removed from the parking lots, camping areas, roadways, under signs and fixed tables, fixed benches, buildings, play structures and walkways, down to pavement level; 10’ from pavement edges and placed on the Beach at a 5% slope to Lake Michigan high water mark. 7. Sand must be relocated along walkways and roads to fill low areas no more than 3 inches from the top of the walkway or road. 8. Sand to the north of the parking lot will be level with the pavement to the edge of the dune. 9. Sand west of the Beach Campground and north of the camper’s sidewalk to the beach will be relocated to the beach as directed by the Park Supervisor. 10. Sand south of the east\west sidewalk on beach will be graded in a manner to form a gradual slope from no more than three inches below sidewalk to the channel wall as per Park Supervisor’s direction. 11. Some sand removed from west of beach campground will be relocated to Lake Macatawa Beach, The Boat House concession area, the dog beach and volleyball court per Park Supervisor’s direction. 12. Under no circumstances will sand be deposited into the water. 13. Any damage to park property shall be reported to the Park Supervisor immediately.
