Cart Path Asphalt Repair-Hickory Knob State Park

1. 3,800 linear feet by minimum 8 foot wide of asphalt repair 2. 1600’ on holes 1-9; 2200’ on holes 10-18 3. See attached cart path map for location of the repairs 4. For site visits, the areas to be repaired are painted white on the cart path Cold Milling: Clean existing pavement surface of loose and deleterious material immediately before cold milling. Remove existing asphalt pavement by cold milling to minimum mill depth of 4 inches below existing finished elevation and compact. Hot Mix Asphalt Installation: 1. Must use a paving-mix manufacturer registered with and approved by SCDOT 2. Place asphalt in accordance with SCDOT Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, Section 403 – HMA Surface Course (2007 or most recent edition), including all applicable sub-references. 3. Overlay a 3 inch depth of Hot Mix Asphalt 4. Compact each course to produce a surface smoothness within the following tolerances as determined by using a 10-foot straightedge applied transversely or longitudinally to paved areas: 1. Base Course: 1/4 inch 2. Surface Course: 1/8 inch 5. Finish HMA surface to original grade and elevation as existing asphalt 6. Smooth transitions between repaired finished asphalt and existing asphalt
