Description

This project will execute the renovation and upgrades to portions of Building 684, Coasters Harbor Island (CHI). The building is one-story, with masonry and steel framing, and is 16,026 square feet in area. The area of work within Bldg 684 CHI is approximately 9,300 square feet in size. The space is used by DIILS (Defense Institute of International Legal Studies) as a conference center, with offices and lecture rooms included. The project will be solicited with Base Bid and Bid Options, including a separate FFE and AV/IT package. Base Bid: Interior renovations include plan reconfiguration (wall partition layout modification) to meet requirements of the DIILS command. This project will remove existing walls and replace with a usable and efficient configuration. All upgrades for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and code must be included in the re-design. The building will have an upgraded fire alarm notification system, with direct contact to the Fire Department. The building will have upgraded climate-control, for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning. Work on the NGIS side on the building to include new fire protection system, and associated finish repairs only. Exterior renovations include the replacement of all exterior doors and windows, flashings, associated trim and exterior wall modifications as required. The scope of work includes full roof system replacement and roof drainage system at DIILS area of B684 only. The roof replacement system includes all warranties and code requirements. Exterior walls of B684 DIILS side only will be repainted. The scope of work includes moving and transporting existing furniture and equipment in B684 to a storage building located on Naval Station Newport, and providing moving and transportation of the existing furniture and equipment back into B684 once construction is complete.
