Description | A Bid Bond in the Amount of Five Percent (5%) of the Total Bid or an Annual Bid Bond is Required Prior to Bid Opening. Bidders are advised to contact the office of the city engineer (316-268- 4501) should they have any questions or concerns about the plans, special or supplemental provisions, minority status, or the proper preparation of the bid document.The bid form shall be prepared using prices per bid item, unless otherwise noted. Any questions prior to bid submittal should be directed to Kyle Kerns, Project Engineer, at (316) 268-4044 or kkerns@wichita.gov. The work order on this project shall be issued on September 12, 2022. This project is a calendar-day completion project. All work on the project will be completed by December 16, 2022. Arterial locations must be completed by October 21, 2022. Working days will be charged as provided for in the Standard Specifications, once the work order is issued. The non-availability of material shall not prevent working days from being assessed. The City reserves the right to refuse to award the project to a prospective bidder if the bidder is in default for any of the following reasons: a. Failure to comply with any prequalification regulations of the City, if such regulations are cited, or otherwise included, in the proposal as a requirement for bidding. b. Failure to pay, or satisfactorily settle, all bills due for labor and materials on former contracts in force with the City at the time the City issues the proposal to a prospective bidder. c. Documented record of Contractor default under previous contracts with the City. d. Documented record of unsatisfactory work on previous contracts with the City |
