Description | Scope: Respondent must have the means, financially and technically, the ability to spot a 48’ trailer, collect, and recycle e-scrap commodities, described as computers, computer components, monitors, printers, fax machines and televisions, from Berkeley County’s ten convenience centers. The potential Respondent must collect e-scrap materials as needed with a once-a-week or every other week scheduled collection service; however, service schedules may be altered depending upon seasonal flow and the needs of Berkeley County. Each load will be weighed on Berkeley County scales and a copy of confirmation and receipt will be provided to the Recycling Coordinator. All hard drives will be securely and properly destroyed. A certificate of destruction will be sent to Berkeley County Recycling Coordinator within 4 weeks of each pick-up. The respondent, at a minimum, must comply with the responsible recycling practices (R2) or other comparable industry or governmental standards (Section 48-60-140). The S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control recognizes that recycling facilities that are: (1) Responsible Recycling (R2) Standard for Electronic Recyclers; or (2) e-Stewards-standard for Responsible Recycling and Reuse of Electronic Equipment. |
