Description | As of March 6, 2023, project was awarded to Apollo, Inc., awarded amount is $3,348,367.29. This Contract provides for the improvement of Steptoe St. and Gage Blvd Intersection: Improvements consist of providing dual left turn lanes on each approach as well as new dedicated right turn lanes on the southbound and eastbound legs of the intersection. City of Richland and City of Kennewick water inter tie meter and valves will be relocated at the southwest corner of the intersection. Traffic curbing and a raised concrete island will be installed to restrict access to driveways within the functional area of the intersection. The existing traffic signal will be replaced with a new traffic signal system. Majority of signal components including poles, mast arms, heads and control cabinet have been pre-purchased and stockpiled at the City shops. Traffic signal timing will be optimized with this configuration along with the elimination of split phase timing. This project includes installation of curb, gutter, sidewalk and retaining walls. There will be some storm drainage catch basin relocations and utility adjustments. The entire intersection will be overlaid with hot mix asphalt and restriped. Most of the landscaping will be completed by the property owner and some trees will be replaced at specific locations as part of this project, and other work, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications. All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier's check or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Kennewick. The City of Kennewick, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, non-discrimination in Federally-assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 23 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award. The City of Kennewick reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids.
