The existing trail is approximately twelve (12) feet wide and six thousand six hundred (6,600) feet long. Any subcontracts for the products/services described herein must include appropriate provisions and contractual obligations to ensure the successful fulfillment of all contractual obligations agreed to by the contractor and the City and to ensure that the City is indemnified, saved, and held harmless from and against any and all claims of damage, loss, and cost (including attorney fees) of any kind related to a subcontract in those matters described in the contract/agreement between the City and the contractor. The contractor shall expressly understand and agree that they shall assume and be solely responsible for all legal and financial responsibilities related to the execution of a subcontract. The contractor shall agree and understand that utilization of a subcontractor to provide any of the products/services in the contract/agreement shall in no way relieve the contractor of the responsibility for providing the products/services as described and set forth herein. The contractor shall only utilize subcontractors stated on Exhibit B in performance of the contract/agreement. The contractor must obtain the approval of the City prior to establishing any new subcontracting arrangements and before changing any subcontractors. The approval shall not be arbitrarily withheld. o Apply 2" overlay on approximately sixty six thousand (66,072) square feet) o Remove existing asphalt from section A (Attachment 1) +/- 365 linear feet (+/-4,380 square feet), regrade and compact existing base before replacing with 4" of asphalt. o Note: No dump trucks shall be permitted on above section of the trail. This is to preserve the integrity of a large oak tree. All asphalt shall be transported via buggy, or other method approved by City representative. o Wedge, as needed on a per ton basis (+/- 40 tons) in the 1 and 2" overlay sections. Area of concern is identified as sections C, E, H, and L on Attachment 1. o Repair and rebuild +1-70 linear feet (+/- 420 square feet) of rock shoulder in section F (Attachment 1) with 3" clean rock and rip rap to correct grade for pavement. o Remove existing asphalt from section F (Attachment 1) +/- 60 linear feet (+1-720 square feet), regrade and compact existing base before replacing with 4" of asphalt. o Mill and overlay trail approaches the road, going to grade, except for two (2) additional approaches that shall be replaced during the repair of section A Only those questions, which necessitate a change to the RFQ, will be addressed via an addendum to the RFQ. Bidders are advised that any questions received less than ten (10) calendar days prior to the RFQ opening date may not be addressed.
