Description

SCOPE OF PROJECT The project consists of furnishing all material and constructing the following: Precast concrete pedestrian tunnel under S. Main Street (M-52), non-motorized path construction, road reconstruction, storm sewer, water main, underdrain, modular block retaining walls, cast-in-place concrete retaining walls, aesthetic parapet, cast-in-place concrete stairs, metal railing, lighting, furniture, landscaping, residential building demolition, permanent signs and pavement markings. Including all necessary appurtenances and restoration. EXAMINATION OF SPECIFICATION Lenawee Economic Development Corporation (Lenawee Now), 5285 W US 223 Hwy 223, Adrian, MI Prein&Newhof, 3355 Evergreen Drive NE, Grand Rapids, MI And some local plan rooms A $25 dollar charge will be added to all mailed drawings and/or specifications. Fees are payable by cash or check only and are not refunded. FUNDING The work to be performed under this contract will be financed and paid for by funds received from State and Federal Grants. BID SURETY A bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check payable to Lenawee Now in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total price shall accompany each bid. This surety shall bind the bidder for a period of ninety (90) days after the receipt of bids. QUALIFICATIONS It is the intention of the Owner to award this contract to a Bidder that will perform and complete all work in compliance with the Contract Documents and in a workmanlike and professional manner. Bids are therefore only solicited from responsible Bidders known to be skilled, experienced, and regularly engaged in work of similar character and magnitude to that covered by these contract documents. Prime contractors, or subcontractors must be MDOT prequalified for the following specialties: Fa, (Bridges and Special Structures) Cb, (Hot Mix Asphalt/Bituminous Paving) Ea (Grading, Drainage Structures & Aggregate Course) COMPLETION DATE All lanes of vehicle traffic on M-52 shall be reopened on or before August 31, 2024. Final restoration and project completion shall be on or before October 4, 2024. See Agreement for specific milestone requirements. Construction may start as early as the Notice of Award is issued. Notice of Award is not expected before December 15, 2023 unless property acquisition is completed before then.
