J--Cast Iron Piping Replacement and Installation

The purpose of this work is to provide a service to remove and replace all sizes of cast iron piping, ranging from 1 ½ inches to 4 inches in diameter, above the ceiling of 5th floor A wing. Approximate lengths of all sizes are as follows: 150 feet of 1 ½ inch, 120 feet of 2 inch, 220 feet of 3 inch, (6) 3 inch floor drains with p traps and 200 feet of 4 inch. All sizes and their lengths are approximate and may vary for each size pipe. All penetrations made and/or reused must be fire stopped in accordance with NFPA 101 life safety code requirements. All work must be performed by and in accordance with Department of the VA, Federal, State, and Local standards. The Department of VA Infection control Standard must always be followed during service. Standards will be clearly posted at the entry where service work is to be performed. This service is time sensitive and must be completed within 14 days from start of contractor service. The space will be made available to contractor 24 hours a day to accomplish this sensitive timeframe.
