1. Complete installation of variable air volume handling units serving existing buildings and removal of some or all of the existing units. Air handling units are typically chilled/ hot water and connect to the existing chilled/ hot water distribution system. 2. Ductwork and supply air devices connected to these units will sometimes be replaced to achieve proper air distribution. 3. Replace chillers serving the buildings. The chilled water pumps will sometimes be removed and modified for variable primary pumping. 4. Replace natural gas boilers serving the buildings and remove the existing systems. The hot water pumps will sometimes be removed and modified for variable primary pumping. 5. Replace the domestic water heaters, thermostatic mixing valves and recirculation pumps. 6. Refurbish existing hydraulic elevators and hoist ways. 7. Remove existing direct digital control (DDC) systems and install a modern electronic DDC Building Automation System to control both the new mechanical equipment and the existing-to-remain equipment. 8. Electrical work may include, but is not limited to, disconnecting the mechanical equipment to be demolished and connecting the new mechanical equipment.
