Engineering Services - Sand Run Metroparks Channel Improvements

Design of channel improvements at various locations in the Sand Run stream corridor within the Sand Run Metro Park in Akron, Ohio. The project will include habitat improvements for fish and aquatic wildlife as well. Typical improvements include slope stabilization, rock toe protection, and channel realignment. The project will also include schematic design of an aquatic organism passage site (AOP) to allow upstream migration of aquatic wildlife near the stream outlet at Riverview Road. The overall goal of the project is to stabilize the stream channel, protect adjacent park assets, and protect aquatic and other natural resources. The project funding is provided by grants from FEMA and the Clean Ohio Fund.
