Network Cabling and Data Port Installation

Background / Introduction: As a part of the One Neighbor Initiative project headed by the Department of USDA; ERS will be relocating to the headquarters building located at 1400 Independence Ave. SW. ERS is currently located at 355 E Street, SW, Washington, DC 20024 at Patriot Plaza III building and currently occupies floors 5th and 6th until the South Building renovations completed. The Economic Research Service (ERS) is a primary source of economic information and research in the U.S. Department of Agriculture. There is a requirement for network cabling for several areas in the new location for newly designed workstations that will be installed once renovation is completed. See spreadsheet in requirement section for more details. Scope: In efforts to relocate the ERS employees to the USDA headquarters building, there are requirements for network cabling workstations that will be installed as part of the renovations. Each workstation will require additional network cable resulting in 338 network connections in total. Task will be installed upon completion of each phase. Objectives: The network cabling will provide the workstations access to data and LAN use. Tasks / Requirements Contractor will install 2 data/LAN ports in each workstation/office total of 338. Cabling installed shall be CAT 5e or CAT 6 with a transfer rate of one gigabit per second.
