Description | The work for this project will generally consist of furnishing labor, equipment, materials, and incidentals for the improvements of the two (2) existing sanitary sewer pump stations, including site preparation, construction support arrangements, demolition, pump station modifications, new pump station equipment, replacements/retrofits, system upgrades, traffic control, temporary flow bypass systems, and the force main improvements. The work includes, but is not limited to: removal and replacement of existing mechanical and electrical structures as shown in the drawings; furnishing, installation and operation of temporary bypass system; rehabilitation and repair of existing wet well and installation of new protective polyurethane coating; furnishing and installation of 5-HP submersible pumps and pump accessories, pump mounting brackets, wet well hatch and safety grate, wet well blower and vent stack; pipes, fittings, valves, flow meter, couplings, adapters, pipe supports, valve vault with access hatch, and air release valve vault; furnishing and installation of mechanical and electrical control equipment, furnishing and installation of a new generator with automatic transfer switch and other appurtenances; provision wall penetrations; furnishing and installation of 1-inch water pipelines and appurtenances. furnishing and installation of motor control center (MCC); variable frequency drive (VFD), programmable logic controller (PLC); field verification of existing force main and existing utilities, installation of force main pipes, fittings, couplings, adapters, and restraints; removal and disposal of the existing asbestos cement pipe; start-up and testing of mechanical and electrical structures and equipment; saw-cutting; pavement removal and trenching; sheeting; shoring and bracing; dewatering; backfill; controlled density fill; base compaction; AC pavement restoration; landscape restoration including but not limited to grass lawn, plants, etc., asphalt pavement restoration; fence restoration and replacement; concrete pad installation; connection work; disposal of unsuitable materials; new PG&E service connection and associated work; vehicular and pedestrian safety and convenience; dust alleviation, storm water pollution prevention, and daily site cleanup and other related work. The Engineer's Opinion of Probable Costs is approximately $2,500,000 to $ 4,000,000 USD Bidders must direct all questions about the meaning or intent of Bidding Documents to City in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by City in response to such questions will be issued by written Addenda mailed, faxed, or delivered to all parties recorded by City as having received Bidding Documents. City may not answer questions received less than 7 Calendar Days prior to the date for opening Bids. City will conduct Optional Pre-Bid Meeting at the date, time and location indicated in Document 00 1113 (Notice Inviting Bids), to consider such matters as Bidders may request and perform a Site Visit immediately following, at the Site. Bidders are recommended to attend Pre-Bid Meeting prior to bidding. B. The Site Visit may be the Bidders' only opportunity to investigate conditions at the Site. Other Pre-Bid Site Visits may be scheduled at City's sole discretion, depending on staff availability The work of this project consist of furnishing labor, equipment, materials, and incidentals for the improvements of the two (2) existing sanitary sewer pump stations, including site preparation, construction support arrangements, demolition, pump station modifications, new pump station equipment, replacements/retrofits, system upgrades, traffic control, temporary flow bypass systems, and the forcemain improvements.
