Description

Contractor shall provide inspections and fill replacement services for the cooling towers, which shall include but not be limited to: Provide and mobilize dumpster, materials, and lay down area. Per Cal OSHA Title 8, subchapter 3314, Contractor shall review and approve Lockout Tagout. Lockout Tagout is defined as the practices and procedures necessary to disable machinery or equipment, thereby preventing the release of hazardous energy material while Contractor performs servicing and maintenance activities. Provide, deliver, and stabilize crane for task. Photograph cooling tower interior, inspect mechanical and plumbing components, and deliver photographs and applicable reports with summary and pre-findings to a designated County representative. Dis-assemble cooling tower fan guard for access to fan and hub assembly. Remove fan and hub. Place clear of traffic and pedestrians. Inspect cooling tower fan stack. Open and inspect hot decks. Log defects and recommended replacement parts. Disassemble fill section and dispose of contractor provided dumpster. Repair any surfaces or fittings. Replace fill sections. Replace the existing fan assembly. Set pitch, tracking & tip clearance(s) back to OEM specifications. Check oil and switches for proper operation. Report any deficiencies. Clean cooling tower basin. Reassemble fan guard. Clear the Lockout Tagout. Power up Cooling Tower unit and verify functionality. In order to ensure all of the above can be completed as required, Contractor shall also provide or complete the following: Contractor to provide all parts as necessary for service to the County at cost. Damaged or nonfunctioning products or parts shall be replaced at no additional cost to the County. Contractor will ensure that any hazardous material will be properly contained, disposed of, and will not come into contact with any bystanders in the vicinity. Facility access requires all County doors to remain closed and secured while Contractor is on site. All entrance and exits must be accessible. Supervision of work, as necessary. All labor to complete inspections, work, and repairs. Rental, setup, and disposal of dumpster as needed. Trucks and vehicles needed to complete all work. Any and all tools needed to complete work. Hoisting equipment and necessary crane services. Standard safety Personal Protective Equipment (“PPE”) Shipping/Fulfillment Instructions. Contractor shall provide receiving instructions for any materials prior to the approved delivery. Contractor shall provide replacement OEM Versa Cross Fill Kits for each tower. If newer model or product is available, Contractor shall provide product specifications for County approval prior to installation. Fill kit replacements shall be provided and completed during each cooling tower’s scheduled inspection service.
