Description | Hillside Board of Education will be receiving sealed bids at the Board Offices located at 195 Virginia Street, Hillside, NJ 07205 for Hurden Looker School Partial Window Replacement. This project is a school facilities project as defined in the Education Facilities Construction and Financing Act, N.J.S.A. 18A:7G-1 et seq. and may be funded in part with grant monies from the New Jersey Schools Development Authority (SDA). All contractors and subcontractors engaged by the Board to work on this project shall agree to be bound by the terms of the Grant Agreement, which is available for inspection at the Board office during business hours. All requests for clarification and/or interpretation by Bidders must be submitted in writing to Environetics Group Architects, P.C. at 180 Sylvan Avenue, Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632 by May 25, 2022 at 3:00 PM, attention Maria Pereira at mpereira@env-nj.com or Carmela Tripodi at ctripodi@env-nj.com. All bidders must use and complete all bid forms and must comply with the requirements contained in the instructions and specifications. The bids are to be marked in individual sealed envelopes and delivered to Dr. David Eichenholtz, Business Administrator, with the name of the project, "Hurden Looker School Partial Window Replacement", plainly marked on the front of the envelope. Every bid must be accompanied by an unconditional certified check or a bid bond in an amount of ten percent (10%) of the base bid but not in excess of $20,000. If a bid exceeds twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00), the Bidder and all general construction and subcontractors must be prequalified by the New Jersey Department of the Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction, as required by law and have a valid and current Notice of Classification prior to the date that bids are received. Any bid submitted under the terms of the New Jersey statutes not including a copy of a valid and active prequalification/classification certificate may be rejected as non-responsive to the bid requirements. The Owner and Architect have determined that only DPMC Trade Classifications listed below are deemed eligible to bid this general construction project. C012 Windows Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:2-1 et seq., "The Law Against Discrimination" and Affirmative Action, N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq. All bidders and their subcontractors shall be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, pursuant to the Public Works Contractor Registration Act, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq. While it is encouraged that the Bidder include, whenever possible, with its bid its own Certificate and that of all subcontractors, same shall be provided to the Hillside Board of Education prior to contract award or authorization. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:32-44, the Hillside Board of Education is prohibited from entering into a contract with an entity unless the bidder and each subcontractor that is required to be named in the bid has a valid New Jersey Business Registration Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Revenue. While it is encouraged that the Bidder include, whenever possible, with its bid its own Business Registration Certificate and that of all subcontractors, same shall be provided to the Hillside Board of Education prior to contract award or authorization. No bidder who is on the State Treasurer's, the SDA's or the Federal Government's List of Debarred, Suspended or Disqualified Bidders shall be eligible to bid on this project. The Hillside Board of Education reserves the right to reject all bids pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-22, those deemed to be non-responsive, and those bids submitted by bidders deemed not to be responsible under the Public School Contracts Law. The Hillside Board of Education may also waive minor informalities in the bidding process in accordance with the law if it is in the best interest of the Hillside Board of Education. The contract, if awarded, shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid is responsive in all material respects to the bid requirements in accordance with applicable law. |
