Description | All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all parties recorded as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. General Description of Work The above-designated work and improvements, referred to as Honey Creek Watershed Levee System Crest Modifications, consists of but is not necessarily limited to the following a. Stripping topsoil and organic material from the levee crest b. Placing compacted fill material c. Placing topsoil d. Seeding e. Raising the height of concrete floodwalls f. Erosion and sediment control The Contract Documents will be provided electronically upon request. The work to be performed and the bid to be submitted shall include sufficient and proper sums for all general construction, mechanical installation, labor, materials, permits, licenses, insurance, and so forth incidental to and required for the construction of the facilities. Each bid must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the title of the Project and the name and address of Bidder. A certified check or acceptable bidders bond made payable to the Owner, in a sum of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the highest aggregate bid, Approved performance and payment bonds guaranteeing faithful and proper performance of the work and materials, to be executed by an acceptable surety company, will be required of the Contractor at the time of contract execution. The bonds will be in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price. the term of the Construction Contract plus a period of twelve (12) months from the date of substantial completion. The Owner reserves the right to reject any bid, or all bids, or to accept any bid or bids |
