The current HVAC system is old and inefficient. The chiller is seventeen+ years old and has reached the end of its life cycle. Constant repairs are being made to the chiller and condenser, as well as the pumps. The air handlers and evaporator coils are the original units that were installed in the 1970s. The current coils are deteriorating. The controls, mixing valves and dampers are all pneumatic with numerous leaks, causing the air compressor to run more frequently than designed. The National Park Service, Missouri Major Acquisition Buying Office (MABO), is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) 140P6222R0004, for a HVAC System and Controls replacement at Lincoln Home National Historic Site. Contractor to provide all labor, qualified supervision, material, tools, equipment, supplies and incidentals. This solicitation is advertised as a Total Small Business Set-aside under NAICS 238220 and the small business size standard is $16.5 Million. The estimated magnitude for this contract is between $450,000 and $600,000. SITE VISIT: Interested contractors are highly encouraged to attend the formal Site Visit. Please see FAR 52.236-27 for Site Visit information. LOCATION: Springfield, IL. CONSTRUCTION DURATION: 200 Calendar Days from Notice to Proceed. REQUIRED BONDS: The project is subject to the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act. The Bid Bond shall be at least 20% of the proposed price but shall not exceed $3M. Performance Bond and Payment Bond (SF25a) will be required - 100% of the contract price.
