Description

Phase I engineering services are required for the preparation of a Location/Design Report and Environmental Assessment (EA) for the removal and replacement of the structure S.N. 031-001 (Joe Page Bridge): IL Route 16/100 over the Illinois River at Hardin, and associated approach roadway work. The replacement structure may be on existing alignment or new alignment. The Phase I effort will include development and assessment of a range of alternatives. The existing structure is a truss bridge with a lift-span. A levee system, known as the Nutwood Levee, exists in the area and is being studied by the Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) for potential improvements to increase the level of flood protection. The results of this ACOE study may affect the alternatives being developed for the replacement bridge. It is anticipated that this project will require an Environmental Assessment (EA). In addition, this project has been identified as a Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS) project.
