Brooklyn Park Irrigation and Landscape Installation

Question Deadline Jul 11, 2023 at 5:00 PM PURPOSE The City of Steamboat Springs is seeking Requests for Proposals (RFP) for construction services from qualified contractors to provide landscape and irrigation improvements at Brooklyn Park. The project areas identified and the following information and attachment provided encompass a full irrigation design, install, and a landscape bed renovation. Proposals should be completed in accordance with the scope of work and project drawings included with this RFP. The scope of work is broadly categorized as follows: A. Brooklyn Park Irrigation o Provide a full design and installation for the Brooklyn Park irrigation system. Sleeves and relocation of existing irrigation backflow will be performed by the General Contractor prior to the irrigation and landscape start date. Design: o Must provide a comprehensive irrigation design, as-built, and final installation redlines for the full irrigation system at Brooklyn Park o Conceptual design will be based on approximate 19,400 SF of irrigated bluegrass and landscape beds o Irrigation design will provide callout notes, schedules, plans and irrigation details o Material callouts should include valve specifications, head specifications, pipe type, pipe sizing, fitting details, isolation valve information, wiring notes, grounding information and controller o All materials should be commercial grade irrigation materials o Design will have head-to-head coverage of all rotor and pop-up heads o Drip irrigation should be designed in landscape beds, if able, and low- flow pop-up alternatives will be excepted o The irrigation design will utilize previously-installed sleeve that will be installed by General Contractor (see Final Site Plan) o 1.5" irrigation backflow will be installed by the General Contractor and will be located near the existing curb stop o Design is based on 110 static PSI and 30gpm Installation o Installation of provided irrigation design, approximately 19,400 SF of irrigated bluegrass and landscape beds o Installation will adhere to the provided design that was approved by the City of Steamboat Springs o Any field changes will be approved by City's Project Manager o Irrigation mainline will have 24" cover to top of pipe, including a 4" cover layer of topsoil on top of the pipe o Irrigation lateral lines will have 14" cover to top of pipe, including a 4" cover layer of topsoil on top of the pipe The City of Steamboat Springs reserves the right to reject any and all bids and proposals and enter into a contract or issue a purchase order which, in its opinion, best serves the needs of the City of Steamboat Springs and its citizens. Landscape Bed Renovation o Provide a landscape bed concept that will include the following: Landscape Concept: o A design or written description of the landscape bed concept will be expected o Landscaping bed is located at the corner of the park and should be a focal point of the park o Landscape bed is approximately 1,600 SF o Landscape concept should include plant material, ideas for the relocation of current boulder, additional boulders, if needed, mulch and irrigation notes o Plant pallet needs to be hardy, low water, and low maintenance o Plantings should include shrubs, ornamental grass, perennials, and low grow materials o The landscape bed concept should be considerate of Steamboat winters and snow piles that will cover this area Installation: o Shrub and perennial planting should be container #3 or larger o Plantings should adhere to standards set by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA)
