Description | Each bid must be submitted, in writing, on the bid pages furnished in the bid specifications to the maximum extent possible. A certified check, cashiers check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent of the bid, but not in excess of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00), must be submitted with the bid, guaranteeing that if a contract is awarded, the bidder shall execute the contract and deliver the bond(s) required by the bid documents. The Bid Bond must be written by a surety company listed on the Federal Treasury List (Environmental Protection Agency Circular 570-Surety Companies Acceptable on Federal Bonds) as required by N.J.A.C. 7:22-3.17 (g). The successful Bidder shall submit copies of the New Jersey Business Registration Certificate(s) and Public Works Contractor Registration Certificate(s) for itself and all subcontractors with the bid submission. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq. The Borough reserves the right to reject any or all of the bids or waive any informalities therein pursuant to and in accordance with applicable law. Bids are to be submitted by regular mail or overnight delivery service, or hand-delivered in a sealed envelope, addressed to the Borough Clerks Office and marked Public Bid with the name and address of the Bidder and the name of the project on the outside of the envelope. Bids will have the date and time stamped upon receipt. Bidder is solely responsible for the timely delivery of the bid and no bids shall be considered that are presented after the public call for receiving bids. Any Bid received after the date and time specified will be returned, unopened to the Bidder. No Bids May Be Submitted Electronically. Prospective Bidders must contact the Borough Clerks Office, telephone 201-794-5340, between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays or by emailing bids@fairlawn.org to pick-up or discuss arrangements for the delivery of the bid package. Prospective bidders shall telephone at least twenty-four (24) hours or at least one (1) business day in advance to reserve a bid package. The Borough assumes responsibility only for mailing the bid package to the prospective bidder and not for proper and timely delivery of the bid package.
