Fort Collins Water Treatment Facility Filter Replacement

To rehabilitate seven (7) filters at the Fort Collins Water Treatment Facility. Rehabilitate the FCWTF Filters 1 through 6, and 8, as follows: 1. Procure underdrains (Leopold XA underdrains with IMS 200 assembly) and NSF coating material. 2. Remove existing filter media. Vendors are responsible for removal but may dispose on site at FCWTF solids handling area (approx. 36” depth).FCWTF will provide the new media and will supply the media as a water based slurry via an eductor to the Filters. Please include in the project cost the labor necessary to place the media in three separate 1-foot lifts in each filter. There will be a 2-hour pause between each lift for FCWTF personnel to skim and wash the placed media. 3. Construct plastic debris containment and air supply/evacuation system. 4. Demolish/remove existing filter underdrains. 5. Roughen existing filter wall coatings and grout wall damage (sandblast walls to clean and remove existing coating). 6. Facilitate wall substrate inspection. 7. Apply NSF coatings to walls, supports, and piping: (See Exhibit B for specifications.) 8. Install and grout new underdrains per manufacturers specifications and on-site recommendations (Leopold XA underdrains with IMS 200 assembly) 9. Perform underdrain inspection and testing with underdrain manufacturer. 10. Place new sand and anthracite media to 36” depth (all media to be purchased and provided by FCWTF to Contractor) and sample media for testing. Testing is to be performed by the FCWTF
