Description | This project is a multi-phase expansion to Roper St. Francis' existing Hospital and Medical Office Building in Summerville, SC. This request is for Preconstruction and Design-Assist Proposals associated with: Soil Amendments (aggregate piers and earthquake drains); Structural Steel; Elevators; Plumbing, HVAC and Electrical. The components of the project include: HOSPITAL 160,000-sf +/- expansion and 56,000-sf renovations. Vertical and horizontal expansion of the Emergency Department, Operating Suite and Patient Tower (50-Beds) MEDICAL OFFICE BUILDING 119,000-sf +/- new building with 62,000-sf +/- fit-up. CENTRAL PLANT 3,300 +/- expansion to the existing utility building with increased chiller, medical gas, emergency generator and service capacity. The intent ifs to award based upon the respondents' qualifications, approach to the project and proposed general conditions and fees. The intent is to engage the successful firms and begin schematic-design reviews in late September or early October 2022. Preconstruction is scheduled through June 2023 and Construction is anticipated to begin in August 2023. A summary schedule for the project is included within the RFP Documents. *We also emphasize the intent relative to the your "opinion of probable cost" for the project. We do not expect a fully-detailed cost of work estimate for the project. It is more important to the team that you propose a firm cost for: general conditions, preconstruction fee and proposed overhead and profit using the guidelines provided in the Bid Package Manual. Your "opinion of probable cost" component of the proposal is non-binding but should underscore your company's understanding of and experience within healthcare construction. *Request for Proposals Addendum #1 has been issued. |
