AHU Replacement at Orange County Sheriff's Complex

Prospective bidders are encouraged to bring all equipment necessary to perform their inspection of the project site. Any equipment provided by Orange County should be thoroughly inspected by the bidder and is used at the bidder's sole cost and expense. All bidders using County-provided equipment will be required to sign the pre-bid release. No one under eighteen years of age will be permitted to participate in the pre-bid inspection. This project consists of the replacement and addition of Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes (both with electric heat and without), replacement and addition of parallel fan powered VAV boxes with electric heat, select demolition and replacement of sheet metal ductwork, replacement of indoor mounted water-cooled packaged direct expansion (DX) units, addition of 'mini'-split type DX systems (indoor and outdoor), addition of a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) type DX system, replacement of exhaust fans, replacement of lab air valves, demolition of several duct mounted electric heaters, replacement of separately coupled vertically mounted in-line pumps (distribution pumps), re-balance of existing separately coupled vertically mounted in-line pumps (cooling tower pumps), expansion of an existing plate and frame style heat exchanger, new Cooling Tower fan blades, new Cooling Tower fan motors, new Cooling Tower motor/fan gear set and drive-shaft, and a new Cooling Tower Velocity Recover Stack. This project also includes a complete mechanical HVAC controls upgrade. All equipment shall be fully tested and balanced. All equipment shall be powered as required in the electrical design documents. Provide electrical design support for the installation of new HVAC equipment. analyzing the existing conductors, means of disconnect and overcurrent protection devices for the new mechanical equipment being installed and replacing as required. When the contract amount exceeds $100,000 a Payment Bond and a Performance Bond issued in a sum equal to one hundred (100%) percent of the total awarded Contract amount by a Surety company considered satisfactory by the County according to the criteria in Section 19 will be required from the successful Bidder for purposes of protecting the County from lawsuits for non-payment of debts as might be incurred during the successful Bidder's performance under such Contract, and insuring the faithful performance of the obligations imposed by the resulting Contract
