Description

DCAMM Certification Required. The scope of work, without limiting the generality thereof, consists of furnishing all labor and materials, plant, transportation, equipment, accessories, appurtenances, and services including building permits, necessary and/or incidental to the proper completion of vinyl window replacement, as described in the specifications, shown on the drawing copies A1, A2 and A3 or as reasonably inferred from either, in the opinion of the Consultant, as being required, and includes: 1. Remove existing windows and furnish and install new double hung, picture and awning vinyl replacement windows complete with hardware and related components as specified in this section or shown on drawings. 2. Windows shall be manufactured by Simonton 5500, Provia Endure, JeldWen Premium Vinyl or approved equal by owners representative. 3. Install new caulking at window perimeters and associated trim work. 4. Removal and re-installation of interior trim work. 5. Painting, repair and caulking of exterior trim work. Repairs to be made with PVC. Exterior trim work contains lead and any hazardous materials are to be handled and disposed of according to state laws. Contractor is to be certified in lead handling, containment and cleanup. Repairs Include: 1. Replace one rotted windowsill with new PVC sill. 2. Replace 15 missing or damaged lower trim detail at base of mullions. 6. Scrape, sand and paint wood and metal cladding at bay window. 7. New framing at base of basement window for electrical line with smaller sized window to accommodate new framing. 8. Add Alternate #1, Stairway window: Strip interior trim work of paint to raw wood, sand and stain trim work to match stained trim work at other first floor windows. 9. Add Alternate #2, Stairway window: Sand and pant interior trim work to match stained trim work of others on first floor, (brown/bronze paint color to be chosen by owners representative). 10. Deduct Alternate #3: Install five (5) picture windows and three (3) awning windows at basement level in lieu of all operable as existing. 11. Add Alternate #4: Provide insect screens for all windows.
