Description | As of September 29,2023, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on October 1, 2023. SCOPE OF WORK : The project consists of providing all tools, labor, material, equipment and supervision for the demolition of a portion of the existing walkway and construction of a new approximately 254 ft by 6 ft wide dune walkover with ramps and handrails at the existing dune path labeled as Access Seaside Park Improvements on South Fletcher Avenue, in accordance with the construction plans prepared by Gillette & Associates dated January 26, 2023. If the Base Bid or the Base Bid plus the sum of any alternates fall into the criteria above requiring a Bid Bond, the bidder shall enclose a Certified Check or Bid Bond with each bid. A Certified Check or Bid Bond shall be for an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the Bid price and shall be made payable to the CITY OF FERNANDINA BEACH as a guarantee that the Bidder will not withdraw its bid for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after Bid closing time. Bid Bonds or Certified Checks will be returned to unsuccessful bidders within 10 days of bid award. Successful bidders will receive their Certified Check or Bid Bond after the contract/agreement has been signed and a Performance and Payment Bond is received. CONTRACT TIME : The Owner has established a contract performance time of 110 calendar days from the date of Notice-toProceed. All work shall be substantially completed within the stated timeframe. This project may be subject to liquidated damages to be specified in the contract. PROJECT SCHEDULE : CONTRACTOR shall begin no later than fourteen calendar days from issuance of Notice to Proceed unless otherwise specified; all work must be completed within 110 calendar days of Notice to Proceed Specification questions during the bid period shall be submitted in writing to City Engineer, Charles George, cgeorge@fbfl.org with a copy to Purchasing Agent, Wanda Weaks, wweaks@fbfl.org. The City reserves the right, based upon its deliberations and in its opinion, to accept or reject any or all proposals. The City also reserves the right to waive minor irregularities or variations to the specifications and in the bidding process. |
