Mid-Michigan/GKB Pathway Connections - City of Mount Pleasant

The 2022 and 2023 project plan, in cooperation with the Mid-Michigan Regional Pathway Group, proposes to conduct planning and grant application to establish a one-mile long paved trail (map attached) connecting the GKB Riverwalk at Island and Nelson parks north to Mission Creek Park. The 2025-2026 project plan proposes to conduct planning to connect the GKB Riverwalk to the Mid-Michigan Regional path with a potential southerly connection point. Expenditures have increased base on updated trail costs; scope has remained the same. As of March 14, 2022 this project is currently in the FY 2021-2026 CIP. Information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed. A firm construction timeline has not been released. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
