Description

In order to familiarize themselves with the project, which will be attended by both the Owner and the Architect. Site inspections will immediately follow the pre-bid conference. It is the responsibility of the Bidder/Contractor to attend and sign in at the pre-bid conference and site inspections. Failure to attend and sign-in at the pre-bid conference and site inspections shall result in the rejection of any bids submitted by those non-attending Contractors. The company name registered at sign-in must be the same as that of the company submitting the quotations. This will be the only time that the Contractors shall be allowed access to the project sites. It is important for the Contractor/Vendor to be aware of any/all pre-existing conditions. The Architect will transmit to prospective Bidders of record any addenda the Architect considers necessary in response to questions arising at the pre-bid conference and site inspections. Bids received after designated time and date of bid opening shall not be considered. Two (2) copies of your bid proposal must be submitted on the "Bid Form" with two (2) copies of the "Non-Collusion Affidavit" form, Certificate of Compliance with Illinois Individual Drug Free Workplace Act, Certificate of Compliance with Illinois Contractors Drug Free Workplace Act, Certificate of Compliance with Illinois Human Rights Act, Bidder Eligibility Certification, Business Enterprise Certification, Smoking and Tobacco Policy, and Certificate of Compliance Background Checks/Sex Offender Database, Prevailing Wage Rates Certification and Contractor's Qualification Statement. Bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check or cashier's check in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid shall be submitted with the bid. Performance, Labor and Material Payment Bonds and Certificate of Insurance will be required from the successful Bidder. The Board of Education, Community High School District 128, reserves the right to reject any and all bids or parts thereof, to waive any irregularities or informalities in bidding procedures, and to award the contract in a manner best serving the interest of the Owner. All Bidders must comply with applicable Illinois Law requiring the payment of prevailing wages to all laborers, workman and mechanics working on public funded projects. If during the time period of work, these rates change, the contractor shall be responsible for additional costs without any change to the contract amount. The proposed contract is subject to the requirements of the Equal Employment Practices Commission and the Illinois Human Rights Act (HRA) Illinois Revised Statute, Ch. 69, Par. 1101, et. seq. (Including the requirement that every party to a public contract shall have adopted written sexual harassment policies, P.A. 87-1257).
