Description

The City of Framingham (City) invites sealed bids for the rehabilitation of the internal components of the existing Garvey Road Sewer Pumping Station, including selective demolition; the furnishing and installing corrosion-resistant coating for the interior of the structure; replacing the existing sewer pump station cover, pumps, valves, piping, sump pump, heating unit, dehumidifier, and cathodic protection system; and providing continuity of functional pumping service while existing and new pumps are out of service. Inquiries regarding this bid are to be directed to Purchasing Department Purchasing@framinghamma.gov The awarded contractor shall comply with Mass. Gen. L. Ch. 149, Sec. 26 - 27D, as this contract is subject to Massachusetts Prevailing Wage Rates. The City reserves the right to reject any and all submissions, to waive any minor informalities and technicalities, or to cancel the bid if it were in the public interest to do so. Questions concerning this invitation for bids must be submitted in writing before 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 11, 2023 online The work done under this contract consists of furnishing all necessary labor, materials, and equipment to Rehabilitation of the internal components of the existing Garvey Road Sewer Pumping Station, including selective demolition; the furnishing and installing of corrosion resistant coating for interior of structure; replacing existing sewer pump station cover, pumps, valves, piping, sump pump, heating unit, dehumidifier, and cathodic protection system; and providing continuity of functional pumping service while existing and new pumps are out of service. and all incidental items necessary to complete the work shown on the plans and described herein. Replacement of existing Garvey Road Pump Station with new upgraded facility. he Work under this Contract includes rehabilitating the existing Garvey Road Pump Station as shown in the Contract Documents and described herein. The rehabilitation work includes but is not necessarily limited to replacing the existing wastewater pumps, valves, piping, fittings, dehumidifier, sump pump, electric unit heater, cathodic protection system, pump station cover, and all associated appurtenances; selective demolition; and restoration of the pump station interior coating system. Work also includes site restoration, temporary bypassing, and providing all appurtenances and incidental work necessary to complete the Work as specified in the Contract Documents. 1. The Work shall consist of furnishing all labor, equipment, materials, tools, apparatus and all other incidental work required to complete the pump station rehabilitation and selective demolition work as specified and shown on the Drawings. The Work shall include, but not necessarily be limited to the following: a. Selective demolition and replacement of all interior pump station components specified in the Contract Documents. b. Perform all required testing of the new sewer piping. c. Maintenance of flow and access to the existing pump station for normal operations prior to commissioning of the new pump station equipment, including temporary bypassing. d. Furnishing and installing corrosion resistant coating system for interior pump station surfaces, including cleaning and surface preparation. e. Replacing existing pump station cover including all hardware and accessories. f. Replacing cathodic protection system. g. Furnishing level monitoring instrumentation. h. Warranty the maintenance and repair of all Work for a period of one (1) year following the issuance of the Certificate of Substantial Completion. i. The Work shall also conform to such additional Drawings and addenda to these Specifications and Drawings as may be published or exhibited prior to the opening of bid proposals and to such Drawings in explanation of details, or as may be furnished by the Engineer from time to time during the construction. j. Work, materials, equipment, and storage areas, which are necessary for construction, but which are not specifically referred to in the Specifications or shown on the Drawings, but implied by the Contract, shall be furnished by the Contractor at their own cost and expense, and shall be such as will correspond with the general character of the Work, as may be determined by the Engineer, whose decisions as to the necessity for and character of such work and materials shall be final and conclusive. It is the intent of these Specifications to produce a complete, finished job, whether shown in every detail or not
