Description | This work shall consist of a contract to: Construct traffic calming devices on an on-call basis to determine by competitive bid the cost to construct a concrete speed hump or speed table ("Traffic-Calming Device") on a city street as shown on City of Omaha Standard Plate 911-01. The cost shall include all concrete, street surface preparation, sawcutting, pavement removal and disposal, barricading, equipment, manpower, utility location services and any necessary steps required to make the street safe during construction. Signs and pavement markings are handled by City of Omaha Traffic Maintenance. This will be a one year contract to install one or more of these devices on the city streets. Locations will be as directed by the City of Omaha, Traffic Engineering Division. The successful contractor will be notified by the City Traffic Engineer's Office to construct these devices. Once the contractor is notified they will have 15 calendar days to complete the work at that location. These devices will typically be installed between the months of May and October; weather permitting, they may be constructed during other months. Quantities are provided for purposes of establishing competitive bids. The actual number of speed humps or speed tables that will be built may vary from the quantities listed in the remainder of this document. There shall be no additional compensation to the contractor for any variation of the listed quantities, and no payment made for storage or purchase of any materials that are not used in the construction of speed humps and speed tables. This project does not have an SEB reserve. Questions regarding this project may be directed to (402) 444-5220 or via email pwreception@cityofomaha.org. |
