Description | This acquisition will result in the award of a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) Task Order (TO) for Building 6003 Roof Replacement, Naval Submarine Base, Kings Bay, GA The purpose of this project is to remove existing low-slope membrane roof systems in their entirety down to roof deck and install complete, new, insulated watertight modified bitumen roof system. Building 6003 is a steel framed secured warehousing and admin facility. Main roof area is approximately 200 x 500 and approximately 40 above grade. Lower level roof area at NW end of facility is approximately 20 x 70, approximately 20 above grade. Existing membrane roof system is sprayed polyurethane foam applied over EPDM roof membrane, rigid board roof insulation, and metal deck. Work area includes upper main roof, lower roof on NW (north) end of building, and all canopy roofs on NE (east) side of building. Metal canopy roofs are not in contract. Slope in existing roof framing structure must be supplemented with tapered insulation to develop not less than 1/4-inch per foot finished drainage slope and to direct runoff to drainage inlets. Remove all existing rooftop smoke hatches and existing abandoned curbs. Infill deck opening with new metal roof deck. Install all support framing required. Design and construct structural modifications to transfer roof diaphragm shear forces to the interior concrete shear walls between open webbed steel joist seats in area identified. Analyze roof diaphragm, diaphragm connections to roof framing members and diaphragm-to-wall connections in accordance with UFC 3-301-01. Perform structural modifications as necessary to resist design wind loads. Provide new lightning protection system. The potential site visit attendees are required to submit the SECNAV 5512 (Attachment 6) for each individual planning to attend the site visit. Submit the form to the following email addresses NOT LATER THAN FRIDAY, APRIL 21, 2023, by 12:00 PM ET: All inquiries concerning the technical aspects of the attached specifications must be submitted and received by the Contracting Office no later than 5:00 PM ET on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, in order to permit adequate time for the government to reply to the inquiry N69450-22-D-0018 / 0019 / 0020 / 0021 / 0022 Design and construction for roof system removal and replacement, removal of smoke hatches and roof deck infill, removal and installation of lightning protection system and certification. All work must meet requirements of the RFP. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is not expected to commence prior to August 2023. Construction is expected to take 240 calendar days. The bid list for this project may be incomplete.
