Description | Maintenance & Repair for the HVAC System at Bryan Park Enrichment Center The work will require approximately: Provide Engineered drawings for the repair / replacement of Supply & Return Chilled & Hot water lines for the HVAC System. Repair / Replace various related equipment. A single prime combined bid for all work will be received for (General), (Plumbing), (Mechanical), and (Electrical) prime contracts. All proposals shall be based on a stipulated sum basis. Segregated bids will not be accepted. All proposals shall include the cost of all state and local sales and use taxes.. All contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper license under the state laws governing their respective trades. General Contractors are notified that Chapter 87, Article 1, General Statutes of North Carolina, will be observed in receiving and awarding general contracts. General contractors submitting bids on this project must have license classification for General Contractors (set forth the license classification required under G.S. 87-1). Plumbing Contractors are notified that Chapter 87, Article 2, General Statutes of North Carolina, will be observed in receiving and awarding plumbing contracts Mechanical Contractors are notified that Chapter 87, Article 2, General Statutes of North Carolina, will be observed in receiving and awarding mechanical contracts Electrical Contractors are notified that Chapter 87, Article 4, General Statutes of North Carolina, will be observed in receiving and awarding electrical contracts Each proposal shall be accompanied by a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on some bank or trust company, insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, of an amount equal to not less than five Percent (5%) of the proposal, or in lieu thereof a bidder may offer a bid bond of five percent (5%) of the bid executed by a surety company licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. Said deposit shall be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages in event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract within ten working days after the award or to give satisfactory surety as required by law Each proposal must be accompanied by the documentation required by the City of Greensboro's Minority and Women's Business Enterprise program included in the project manual. This documentation, must be in a separate_envelope from the bid forms. Failure to complete and include the appropriate MIWBE Affidavits (see M/WBE special Instructions) is grounds for rejection of the bid proposal. A performance bond and a payment bond will be required for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Payment will be made on the basis of ninety percent (95%) of monthly estimates and final payment made upon completion and acceptance of work. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids, except under the provisions of General Statute 143-129.1, for a period of Sixty (60) days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities that are deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Greensboro. |
