Tile line crossing under Highway 44 in Dallas County

Awarded bidder to supply all labor, materials, and equipment to install 135' of 24" reinforced concrete pipe across IA 44 at station 816+87 Mile Post 94.141. Dewatering is also the responsibility of the awarded bidder. Awarded bidder shall be responsible for locating, potholing, and avoiding all utilities. The section of tile crossing under the highway from toe of foreslope to toe of foreslope shall be installed via trenchless construction. The trenchless construction shall meet the Iowa DOT's standard specifications for highway and bridge construction series 2015 with GS-15011 supplemental. The trenchless portion shall meet section 2553. The balance of the crossing may be installed via open trench construction using like materials as the trenchless construction. Trenched construction shall meet section 2552. Awarded bidder to connect the new tile crossing to the existing tile per Iowa DOT Standard Road Plan DR-122 Installation of inspection access will be completed per Standard Road Plan DR-302. Installation of Tee sections will be completed per standard DR-142. Installation of area intakes at low point of north and south ditch bottoms will be completed per Standard Road Plan SW-512. All materials must meet Iowa DOT standards and specifications. Final grading and seeding with approved seed mixture of disturbed areas to be the responsibility of the awarded bidder. Traffic control will be the responsibility of the awarded bidder. Traffic control standards are included and must be utilized as needed and required. It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered.
