The Daviess County Board of Education will receive lump sum sealed bids on a prime contract reroofing and coatings for portions of Burns Elementary and Burns Middle School, and related work as indicated. Location BURNS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 4514 GOETZ DRIVE OWENSBORO, KY BURNS MIDDLE SCHOOL 4610 GOETZ DRIVE OWENSBORO, KY Document Deposits will be refunded to contractors who submit a bona fide proposal to the Owner (directly or through a prime contractor) and return the documents, in an acceptable and reusable condition within ten days of the opening of the bids. Reroofing work at three schools. The Work Includes, but is not limited to, selective demolition, miscellaneous carpentry, modified bituminous membrane roofing, membrane reroofing preparation, sheet metal flashing and trim, manufactured roof specialties, and complete clean-up and removal of construction debris. 1. Burns Elementary School: Tear-off and replacement of the Gym Roof, including new gutters and downspouts and sheet metal. 2. Burns Middle School: Tear off and replacement of the Commons Roof, including a metal roof over metal roof on the Commons also. Bid Guaranty in the form of a Bid Bond (Proposal bonds with Contractor acting as surety are not acceptable), Certified Check, or cash shall accompany each bid. The amount of the bid Guaranty shall be not less than five percent (5%) of the Bid set forth in the Proposal Form. All bid Guaranties shall be made payable to the Daviess County Public Schools. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a performance and payment bond and a material and payment bond in an amount equal to at least One Hundred Percent (100%) of the Contract price. The premium for the bonds shall be included in the proposal amount(s). No bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days there from. The scoring of bids/proposals is subject to Reciprocal preference for Kentucky resident bidders and Preferences for a Qualified Bidder. Please refer to specification sections 00220 and 00450. The Owner reserves the right to determine the ability of any bidder to perform the work, and upon the request of the Owner, any bidder shall furnish such information as may be required to make this determination. The Owner reserves the right to accept any bid, to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in bids received where such acceptance, rejection or waiver is considered to be in the best interest of the Owner and to reject any bid where evidence of information submitted by the bidder does not satisfy the Owner that the Bidder is qualified to carry out the details of the Contract Documents. **Document Notes: All mailing charges (non-refundable), if required, are to be arranged in advance with, and paid directly to, Maco-Evansville Blue with a separate check.
