Description | The playground at Westover Park has a unitary surfacing in two separate areas of the existing playground (outlined above in green). The total area to be removed and replaced is approximately 3,075 sqft. Contractor to field verify. The playground areas are bounded by plastic curbs and concrete sidewalk. Contractor shall remove and dispose appropriately of the existing unitary surfacing system and subsurface debris in both playground areas. The contractor shall ensure a smooth ground surface prior to installing a new surfacing system. Any roots within the unitary surfacing system must be first cleanly cut, then removed. Contractor shall install a new unitary surface in each of the playground areas according to the specifications included in this bid advertisement and manufacturer’s requirements. Surfacing under swing set shall be extremely durable. Special care shall be made to ensure that all transitions to other surfaces are smooth; new surfacing shall have no gaps at the concrete sidewalk, curbs, storm drain grates, or play equipment. Contractor must clean up work areas of the park at the end of the project and dispose of all debris so that playground is ready for play. Any debris must be stored in a Contractor-provided dumpster. Use Wagoner St adjacent to Westover Park play areas for temporary dumpster placement. Contractor shall provide satisfactory impact attenuation test results for the new surfacing to DPR at the project’s completion. Scope: This work includes the removal and proper offsite disposal of the existing unitary playground surface, and furnishing and installing new unitary safety surface, over the existing sub-base. |
