Any new wall louvers, etc. shall match existing louvers and shall be the responsibility of the DB Contractor. Mechanical New Work Requirements New Exhaust Hood: - Install new exhaust canopy hood or containment laboratory style hood. New Exhaust Fan and Ductwork: - Install 2400 cfm exhaust fan ducted from hood directly to the outside. - Exhaust fan shall be installed above the existing ceiling in a location that will not disturb the occupants of the building when running. - Exhaust fan shall be inline centrifugal type designed for low noise. - Ductwork shall run above ceiling or in concealed chase from the second floor mailroom to the exterior of the first floor. DB Contractor shall be responsible for determining the best routing and termination of the exhaust ductwork. New Make-up Air Supply Fan and Ductwork: - Install 2000 cfm supply fan / hood make-up air ducted from hood directly to the outside. - Supply fan shall be installed above the existing ceiling in a location that will not disturb the occupants of the building when running. - Supply fan shall be inline centrifugal type designed for low noise. - Ductwork shall run above ceiling or in concealed chase from the second floor mailroom to the exterior of the first floor. DB Contractor shall be responsible for determining the best routing and termination of the supply ductwork. - Supply air intake and exhaust air intake shall be installed as not to short circuit or recirculate back into the supply air. Filtration and UV Light System: - Install RS-3 Integrated Air Purification System by Dynamic Air Quality Solutions, or equal, in ductwork between the hood and exhaust fan. The filters capture the particulate and the UV light kills the contaminant. - RS-3 Filtration and UV light unit shall be installed and accessible within the mailroom. - Filtration unit shall have a MERV rating of 13 minimum. Electrical New Work Requirements Power Requirements: - Provide one dedicated 115 volt, 1 phase power from existing electrical panel to new exhaust fan, switch and Air Purification Unit. - Install 115 v /1 phase exhaust fan on dedicated wall switch with a delay-off timer, say 15 to 30 minutes. - Install UV Light and filtration unit in ductwork with continuous 115 v /1 ph power from hot side of fan switch power, with local disconnect, or switch at RS-3, to be able to turn power off to RS-3 unit in order to change UV lamps, ballast, or change filters. - Provide one dedicated 115 volt, 1 phase power from existing electrical panel to new supply fan. - Interlock supply fan with exhaust fan via relay or similar so that supply fan runs only when the supply fan runs. - Provide local electrical disconnect for supply fan. |
